Our Story
How When I Go began
Over the past few years, our team hosted online funerals for families navigating loss. Time and again, one question kept coming up: Can I plan for myself? It was asked so often, and with such quiet urgency, that we wanted to do something about it.
We had watched families struggle through loss, making dozens of difficult decisions in a matter of days, based on fuzzy memories and best guesses. Without clear wishes in place, even the most loving families sometimes found themselves in conflict at the worst possible moment. We knew there could be a real cost to waiting, so we decided to build something that answered their question.
When I Go was born from a simple belief: clarity is one of the greatest gifts you can give the people you love. Your loved ones should know who you'd like to be notified, who you'd like to speak, your choice of music, which friend should get your favorite scarf. The small details and the big ones, all in one place, ready when they need it most.
We built When I Go to be warm, gentle and completely pressure free. From the comfort of your own home, at your own pace, with no salespeople and no pressure. Because everyone deserves to have their wishes known, their story preserved, and their intentions carried out exactly as they'd want.

You’re in Control
You choose what to include, who to invite, and can update or remove information at any time. You can disconnect Google access anytime from your account settings.
